VFP: TIOBE again – some concerns

Posted on June 4, 2006. Filed under: Visual FoxPro |

As Craig Boyd and others have pointed out, Visual FoxPro has risen again in the TIOBE index, this time to number 12. It is only an index ofcourse, so we can’t place too much emphasis on it, but on the other hand it does seem a reasonable reflection of VFP’s revival lately.
However the thing that concerns me is seeing VB.Net drop down to position 21. This seems strange. C# at 8 (and rising) I can fully understand, but is the gap between C# and VB.Net really that big? Perhaps most surprisingly Classic VB is still rising – currently sitting at 4.
